Denise Williams-Jones

MOMs Mentor

God, Determination, and Hard Work

Mrs. Denise Williams-Jones journey to success was far from easy. Growing up in a low-income household in St. Thomas, Jamaica, she faced the challenge of becoming a pregnant teen at the age of 12. She felt as though her dreams were on the verge of being derailed. However, her mother stood by her side and became one of her biggest supporters and a pillar of strength.
Thanks to her determination and resilience, it all paid off. She discovered a passion for science and healthcare, and today, she serves as a Community Peer Educator with the Ministry of Health. In this role, Mrs. Williams-Jones provides valuable insights and perspectives on healthcare issues affecting young people, helping to shape policies and programs that benefit her peers. She is currently pursuing her BSc in Social Work at the University of the Commonwealth Caribbean.
She is also an active member of her community and a dedicated volunteer, having been a long-standing member of the Police Youth Club movement and the Harbourview Community Outreach Club.
Her story is a powerful reminder that, with God, determination, and hard work, anyone can overcome even the most daunting obstacles and achieve greatness.
